Glam Makeup Ideas For the Holidays!

It's that time of year again. Yep. You guessed it. The holidays! Where you get to attend all those fun parties and look glamorous. But what's an awesome dress and killer shoes without gorgeous makeup? This year, try soft, pearly makeup instead of heavy makeup. Dust a light setting powder over your foundation, and use a shimmery peach blush like Deep Throat by NARS. It's a gorgeous peachy color with flecks of gold shimmer. Perfect for chilly December! As for your eye makeup, let your eyes be the focal point of your look. Try an emerald green or jade for your eyeshadow, and use a thin black or brown liner. Or, you can even do a neutral eye and use a bright colored liner on your lower lash line. I absolutely love neutral colored pops! Layer different mascaras to create a one-of-a-kind, unique look. You can even use false lashes, plain ones or a crazy look. E.L.F. has some cool, eye-catching false lashes. It's better to experiment with makeup during break or with friends, so you can create totally new looks in your spare time! With your lips, keep it sheer and not so dark, or it'll divert all the attention away from your makeup! Try using a buildable hot pink, or a rosy coral lipstick, and layer a glittery gloss over it. Super cute! This look is easy to recreate, and you can use it for all sorts of events. But don't forget to make it your own! Have a great holiday season, everyone, and stay safe. :)

Books, Books, Books!

I've noticed that I'me going a little book-crazy at the moment. Right now, there's a stack of like 16 books on my desk, books I really want to read. I get sorta out of control when I go to the library. Basket in hand, I pull down book after book until my load is 20 lbs. or more. Literally. And I read my books too. I will seriously sit down, book in hand and forget where I am or what I'm doing for hours on end. Reading is just my thing. I'll attach some links to books that I absolutely love below.

The Hunger Games Trilogy

The Missing Series

The Mysterious Benedict Society

Tell me, what's your favorite book to read?

Welcome Fall!

Now that summer has come and gone, it's time for fall! I love whenever fall comes around. It always makes me think of the crisp, fresh air, pumpkin carving, and of course, the turning leaves! Ever since I was little, my friends and I would rake all the leaves we could in a pile, and then jump in them over and over again. I still do this, and look forward to it every year. In my corner of the world, it's still kinda warm this time of year. It's nice, because I can go outside in a t-shirt and shorts and see tons of falling leaves. I totally love October, when people have bonfires and carve pumpkins and have amazing artwork falling from their trees (talking about leaves). Autumn is totally my favoite season, and I hope it doesn't go by too fast! Just thought I'd share this fun-filled season with you guys. :)

Tell me... what's your favorite season?

Nighty-Night: Sleep Tight

It's happened to all of us. Had too much caffiene before bed, didn't relax until it was time to sleep, wasn't tired at all. Whatever your problem, insomnia can make you super tired and cranky the next day if you dont stop it. Here are some great tips for falling asleep faster:

Spray a comforting scent. I wouldn't recommend spraying a sweet of citrusy scent, because that tends to wake your body up. Try something like Lavender Chamomile Body Spray I spray mine over my sheets a few minutes before I lay down, and the scent is so calming. I also love to burn candles. Bath And Body Works has some fantastic ones to choose from.

Relax! When you're running around all day you probably are still wide awake at bed time. Try taking a soothing bath, reading a pleasure book, or drawing/ writing. It's a great way to lose all of the stress that accumulates in your mind throughout the day.

Control your caffiene. in addition to not being healthy for you, caffiene will make you buzz, not sleep. If you want to have a coffee, a soda, or chocolate (which is chock-full of the stuff), try to not eat  or drink it after 7-8 P.m., depending on when you want to go to bed.

What's your favorite way to end the day?

Trend-Spotting: Camel Clothes

Hey girls! So a couple of nights ago I had such a crazy dream. I was sitting, front and center, at New York Fashion Week! The real crazy thing was, though, that all of the models were wearing camel-colored clothes! When I say camel, I mean a soft, brown, sort of a mix between beige and tan, close to a caramel. I mean, dont get me wrong, but I wouldn't exactly want to wear camel everywhere I go. For the next few days, I started seeing camel! At all these shops and in ads, the first color my mind saw was camel! I was totally driving me nuts. But then I started thinking, Hey. Camel's a nice color. It's soft, and really wearable. It got me thinking.  You could go all out in camel, or incorparate a few pieces into your wardrobe. It's a great color for fall, because it's not super bright, it's kinda muted. Here are some fantastic pieces that I found online:

forever21

Steve Madden

Dots

Old Navy

Enjoy!

Butter London Nail Polish!

Hey girls! Have you ever tried those Butter London nail polishes? I totally fell in love with them after seeing tons of beauty gurus talk aout how great they are. I only have four of their colors, though. They're: Teddy Girl, Knees Up, Cheeky Chops, and Henley Regatta. Super cute name aside, each polish has very good consistency, and has a clean finish. They are a bit pricey, and run about $14 in the U.S. I bought mine at Ulta, but you can also start your collection at http://www.butterlondon.com/ I think these are good investments, and a great gift idea for a nail polish adict like my self!
